DATRON Dynamics Inc., based in Milford, N.H., has introduced a compact high-speed machining center that features a 30,000 RPM spindle and a 59 inch X 55 inch footprint. The machining center has a solid granite table that provides 20” x 20” of work area and a 1.2 kilowatt machining spindle that delivers feed rates of up to 550 inches per minute, according to the company. DATRON said the center can be used for milling, drilling and engraving aluminum, plastics, stainless steel and brass. The M75 also could be used for the production of panels and housings, milling profiles and 2-D or 3-D engraving. Included with the M75 are a spray-mist coolant system, 10-station automatic tool changer with a database and tool-length sensor, Microsoft Windows-based control software, computer, flat-screen monitor and hand-held remote, and a safety protective enclosure with lock out/tag out capability. M75 options include 3-D probing, integration of virtually any CAD/CAM software and a variety of integrated solutions such as pneumatic clamping systems and DATRON’s VacuMate vacuum tables.
