Keystone Solutions Group of Oshtemo Township, Mich., has finalized its business consolidation and expansion effort into a new 24,000-square-foot location, that includes laboratory, manufacturing and warehouse space, including a certified clean room and separate assembly area for durable goods.
Keystone previously had one facility in Kalamazoo and another in Grand Rapids, but recently combined both into one expanded
location in Kalamazoo.
“The Kalamazoo expansion plan has been in the works for the past few years. It is great to see it come to fruition. The Keystone team pulled out all of the stops and made the plan a reality. We’ve only been fully functional in the new facility for a few months and have already experienced a significant positive impact on our business,” said Jim Medsker, founder and president of Keystone.
Keystone provides engineering and development services for customers in the automotive, aerospace and medical device markets.
According to Medsker, the expansion will allow his firm to meet future demand for contract manufacturing and development projects currently in their pipeline. They will soon open a collaborative office space in the Grand Rapids area.
“We believe having a presence in downtown Grand Rapids will be more impactful for us and our customers in that market, than the manufacturing space we had in Cascade Township near the airport,” Medsker said.
“It’s an exciting time for Keystone and our customers,” said Robert Nesky, director of sales and business development at Keystone. “Our new facility is a showcase and brings some unique capabilities to Kalamazoo County. It allows us to execute on our growth initiatives and to meet future project demands."
Keystone also recently received ISO 13485 certification for its new location and will continue to maintain FDA registration for its medical device customers. Keystone provides business consulting, engineering, product development, contract manufacturing, and regulatory strategy services for medical device OEMs and has experience with orthopedic, cardiovascular, diagnostics, wound care, imaging products, dental and patient surfaces. It manufactures both durable and single-use disposable items for many segments of the
marketplace.
