MagneMotion Inc. and Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics are teaming up on in-vitro diagnostic technology.
Under the partnership, Siemens gains an exclusive license to use MagneMotion's Linear Synchonous Motor (LSM) products and technologies in current and future in-vitro devices. MagneMotion will continue to service its existing IVD customers and, on a selective basis, work with Siemens on near-term market opportunities.
“We are delighted to form a strategic relationship with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. MagneMotion and Siemens have had a very positive history and this newest development is a culmination of strong interest by both parties to form an even closer working relationship," MagneMotion President/CEO Todd Webber said. "Siemens is well positioned to advance MagneMotion’s LSM technology in the IVD field, and we look forward to future cooperation.”
“We are expanding our ability to bring leading-edge technology to the clinical laboratory, and a core element of this is to establish strategic partnerships with innovators, including those outside the traditional IVD industry like MagneMotion,” said Dave Hickey, CEO, Chemistry, Immunoassay, Automation and Diagnostics IT Business Unit, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. “By combining the innovations of MagneMotion with our clinical diagnostics company, together, we can help transform the future of patient care.”
MagneMotion provides Linear Synchronous Motors and advanced transport solutions for high performance assembly, process, test and manufacturing automation to industries including, medical device assembly, automotive, pharmaceutical, packaging and optical. MagneMotion's LSM products are used to create faster, more efficient, and more reliable automation solutions than conventional systems.
