Piab has launched the piCOMPACT10 range, a product it claims is the first manifold-mounted functional ejector system based on energy-efficient Micro COAX technology. Using Piab’s Micro COAX cartridges (the world’s smallest multistage vacuum ejector, according to the Swedish firm), the piCOMPACT10 range provides three times more vacuum flow than similar products. The stronger vacuum flow has a two-fold benefit: It not only reduces energy consumption by 30 percent to 50 percent compared with traditional ejectors, but also allows vacuum systems to move more quickly to increase production capacity, the company said in a news release. By offering an increased vacuum flow, piCOMPACT10 ejectors strengthen product grip to increase pickup speed, minimize product damage and reduce waste. The device also releases products faster from assembly line suction cups. Products in the piCOMPACT10 range are ideal for pick-and-place operations in the medical, plastics, metal, electronics and semiconductor sectors, where efficient handling of small, heavy parts is crucial. These products also tend to be smaller and lighter than conventional ejectors, reducing the total weight of vacuum handling systems. The piCOMPACT10 vacuum ejectors come in four versions to fit various systems, including those requiring very low feed pressure or extra deep vacuum levels. In addition, the compact ejectors can be integrated into existing production lines with no modifications and can be configured to meet individual manufacturing needs, the company noted.
