During the 104th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 25-30 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, Siemens Healthineers introduces the MAGNETOM Altea, a 1.5 Tesla (1.5T) magnetic resonance (MR) scanner equipped with innovative BioMatrix patient personalization technology. By extending the availability of BioMatrix technology to the MAGNETOM Altea, Siemens Healthineers is transforming care delivery in radiology, delivering consistent quality while achieving improvements in patient satisfaction and workflow optimization.
The MAGNETOM Altea has a wide, 70-cm bore and BioMatrix technology that includes the Select&GO Interface, which is powered by artificial intelligence to enhance workflow productivity. Select&GO removes the need for anatomical landmarking, enabling faster patient positioning. Additionally, the MAGNETOM Altea is equipped with Tim 4G and Dot (Day Optimizing Throughput) automation that supports standardized, highly reproducible scan procedures. To further facilitate workflow and help ensure patient safety, the system features an optional dockable table.
The MAGNETOM Altea showcases the new Turbo Suite acceleration packages, a series of customized speed applications for routine examinations of various areas of the body. Turbo Suite can reduce scan time by up to 50 percent without compromising image quality.
To substantially improve patient satisfaction in MR exams, the MAGNETOM Altea also offers as an option the Innovision in-bore infotainment system, which is designed to travel with the scanner table while immersing the patient in a unique exam experience. In addition to creating the illusion of an enlarged bore, Innovision is designed to provide a video experience with excellent sound quality and display the remaining scan time.
“Siemens Healthineers is proud to introduce the MAGNETOM Altea to completely transform the patient experience, from its wide 70-cm bore and state-of-the-art infotainment system to its lightweight, flexible coils and new speed applications that enable the provider to get the patient on and off the table faster,” said Jane Kilkenny, vice president of magnetic resonance at Siemens Healthineers North America.
