MRPC, a single-source provider of medical device components and assemblies, has a lot to celebrate in June.
The company recently checked off two big items from its to-do list. First, it was recognized by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a 2014 Top Workplace in Southeastern Wisconsin. Second, the company celebrated the grand opening of its 15,000-square-foot facility expansion.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplaces award is based on anonymous employee feedback from 235 local companies. A full list of recipients was featured in a special section published in the newspaper on June 8. A family-owned company since 1921, MRPC has grown to accommodate 120 employees in Butler, Wis., and 20 employees at its plant in Largo, Fla. The honor marks the third consecutive year that MRPC has been recognized by its employees as a top workplace.
“This award is a testament to MRPC’s collaborative, innovative atmosphere, which enables employees to succeed and produce the best results for our customers,” said Greg Riemer, president of MRPC. “Our exceptional staff is the driving force behind MRPC’s success and leadership in our field.”
MRPC’s major expansion, which broke ground in May 2013, brings the total square footage of the Milwaukee plant to 100,000 square feet. The new addition opened in January and features additional clean rooms, office space and employee support space. MRPC invested $2.5 million in the expansion, which will allow the company to grow 10 to 15 percent annually over the next five years, as the it plans to hire 35-40 new employees in the Milwaukee area, officials said.
The total clean room manufacturing space is now 35,000 square feet, which enables MRPC to meet increased demand for silicone molding, multiple-material molding, micromolding, medical molding and thermoplastic molding, while also adding high-tech jobs in the Milwaukee area in the medical device manufacturing industry.
“We are committed to investing in Milwaukee and the medical device manufacturing industry,” Riemer said. “MRPC is continually evolving to maintain our position as industry leaders on the cutting edge of technology, and this expansion supports our continued growth and innovation.”
