The views of the Medica/CompaMed 2022 event conclude with a visit from a German official, health and fitness with Olympic athletes, and connected care.
Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), visited the world's leading medical trade fair MEDICA 2022 on November 17. Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) “met” with a healthcare robot, equipped to help patients get checked into an office or direct them within a care facility. The use of such technology puts an interesting face on the technology, which makes it appear much more approachable than simply a touchscreen. Image courtesy of Messe Düsseldorf/ctillmann.
Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) gets a demonstration of virtual reality technology, which has an array of applications within the healthcare space. Connected care is a rapidly growing area of healthcare and it’s vital companies provide technologies to enable it. Such innovation can enable the viewing of images anywhere via a Wi-Fi or data signal, enabling colleagues to confer on a patient’s case. Image courtesy of Messe Düsseldorf/ctillmann.
Within the halls of 8A and 8B, CompaMed serves as home to a variety of suppliers who are ready and able to aid device makers tackle their challenges. At one such company’s stand, 3D-printed custom bone plates are on display to demonstrate the metal printing capabilities of the organization. Image courtesy of Messe Düsseldorf/ctillmann.
CompaMed is a show within the Medica show, where suppliers are able to present their capabilities and products to medical device manufacturers. For example, for a company working on a stent, providers of the wire can be identified, as well as those who can form the stent. Additionally, companies required to develop and manufacture the delivery system used to place the stent can also be located. Image courtesy of Messe Düsseldorf/ctillmann.
In several higher numbered halls (such as 16 and 17), a number of nations have put their best foot forward in terms of what they have to offer the healthcare industry, from supplier capabilities to medical device innovation. Israel is one such country, known for fostering a healthy medtech R&D environment. Image courtesy of Messe Düsseldorf/ctillmann.
Any medical devices that need to adhere to the body (i.e., wearables) require just the right adhesive to remain in place as needed. To add to the challenge, every application is different, every body type is different, and every need is different. Adhesives suppliers, such as 3M, were ready to hear of the challenges for medical device manufacturers and provide solutions. Image courtesy of Messe Düsseldorf/ctillmann.
