Abbott has made a number of personnel changes, including the appointment of a new chief financial officer (CFO).
Effective on September 1, 2023, Philip Boudreau was named senior vice president of finance and CFO. He will report to Robert Funck, whose appointment as executive vice president of finance takes effect on the same day.
Abbott also named John McCoy, Jr. as vice president, controller according to a press release.
Boudreau has been Abbott’s vice president, controller since 2020. He served as divisional vice president, controller, Medical Devices from 2017 to 2020 and as divisional vice president, controller and commercial support, Point of Care Diagnostics from 2012 to 2017. Boudreau also worked in many positions in Abbott’s Diagnostics, Diabetes, and Nutrition businesses during his career. He joined Abbott in 1997 and became a corporate officer in 2020.
McCoy has been Abbott’s vice president, treasurer since 2021. Prior to that he was divisional vice president, controller, Rapid Diagnostics from 2018 to 2021 and divisional vice president, financial shared services from 2017 to 2018. Before Abbott, McCoy was senior vice president and corporate controller at Baxalta from 2015 to 2017.
In May, Abbott also released data showing that its CardioMEMS sensor nearly halves heart failure hospitalizations.
