Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) has promoted Adam Stiles to chief operating officer (COO).
Stiles has led the company’s sales and marketing efforts since 2010 and became SSP’s vice president in 2020, a role that made him responsible for implementing long-term business strategy. In his new role as COO, Stiles will continue to lead the sales, marketing, and long-term strategic efforts as well as manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain. Paul DiCaprio, SSP’s president, is assisting Stiles with the transition and remains responsible for quality control, research and development, and finance. Stiles will report directly to DiCaprio.
“Adam has done an outstanding job navigating us through the COVID-19 pandemic and the worst silicone rubber shortage in history,” DiCaprio said. “He’s successfully positioned SSP for long-term growth in the septa, EMI/RFI shielding, aerospace and defense, and medical device markets. With his promotion to COO, Adam will continue to grow the business while taking on responsibilities for operations in order to drive greater efficiencies.”
Stiles’s promotion is the latest in a series of career advancements at SSP. The Cornell University graduate joined the company in 2008 as global industrial product manager and in 2010 was promoted to global product manager, a role that included SSP’s laboratory products. He was later named director of sales and marketing and then promoted to vice president of sales and marketing. His promotion to COO became effective recently and includes direct or indirect supervisory responsibility for approximately 50 of SSP’s 76 employees.
