Intrinsic Imaging, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration-audited, ISO 9001 and 13485 certified imaging core lab providing imaging core lab services for clinical trials, has appointed Richard Taranto as vice president of Business Development.
Taranto brings to Intrinsic Imaging 17 years of experience specifically within medical imaging core labs. Throughout his medical imaging career, Taranto has participated in hundreds of international clinical trials involving medical imaging and he has an in-depth knowledge of the needs of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and contract research organizations conducting clinical trials, the company claims.
Taranto has significant medical imaging expertise in all therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, central nervous system, gastrointestinal and genitourinary, medical device, musculoskeletal and oncology.
Prior to joining Intrinsic Imaging, Taranto served as executive vice president of Business Development for WorldCare Clinical, LLC, a medical imaging contract research organization. During his decade-long tenure at WorldCare, he held various senior leadership positions including president and chief operating officer.
Before WorldCare, Taranto worked as a senior project manager within Parexel Inc., one of the world's largest public CROs, where he managed international clinical trials within their Perceptive Informatics medical imaging division.
Taranto began his career as a clinical research associate studying neonatology at Beth Israel Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Boston, Mass. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Zoology and a master’s degree in Business Administration.
Taranto is based in Intrinsic Imaging’s Bolton, Mass., office.
