Emuge Corp. has a new leader.
The German manufacturer of high-performance machining industry tools has appointed Bob Hellinger as president of its U.S. and Canadian operations. Hellinger succeeds Peter Matysiak, who retired after a 25-year run with the company.
"I am excited to join Emuge," Hellinger said in a prepared statement. "I am looking forward to continuing the legacy that Peter Matysiak established in his tenure, and to further expand sales and market penetration throughout the U.S. and Canada."
Hellinger began his manufacturing career in the cutting tool industry 25 years ago (just as Matysiak embarked on his journey at Emuge) as a regional sales manager for Cleveland Twist Drill (now part of Addison, Ill.-based Greenfield Industries). In 1994 he joined Guhring Inc., a full line cutting tool manufacturer, as a regional sales manager and was promoted in 2004 to national sales manager with responsibility for sales, marketing, customer service and distribution. Hellinger's tenure with Guhring spanned 19 years to 2013.
Hellinger also served two years on the Industrial Supply Association membership committee. He has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Emuge Corp. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emuge-Werk Richard Glimpel GmbH & Co. KG (Lauf, Germany), which manufactures an array of taps, thread mills, end mills, toolholders, clamping devices and other rotary cutting tools for the dental, wind turbine and oil/gas industries. The company's U.S./Canadian headquarters is located in West Boylston, Mass.
