MPR Associates has promoted Eric Claude to vice president of MPR Product Development, its division focused on the development, design and engineering of medical devices and health related consumer products.
Claude joined MPR in 1986 with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia. According to company officials, Claude was instrumental in creating MPR's Product Development business, for which he most recently served as general manager—responsible for the day-to-day operations and successful delivery of all of its medical device projects. As vice president, Claude also will assume leadership for the overall success of the business.
"As MPR's Product Development business enters its next stage of growth and success, Eric's leadership is exactly what is needed to continue to provide excellent work and impact for our clients, while growing the business in a sustainable way," said Bob Coward, MPR principal officer.
Claude is a regular speaker at industry meetings (such as AdvaMed) and universities on product development topics including risk management, human factors engineering, and design control processes. He has authored articles for the medical device and nuclear power industries, and written papers on product development, U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations for medical devices, and other topics. In addition to his industry commitments, he regularly advises clients, partners and investors on strategies for product development and commercialization.
