Nativis Inc. has named two new executives to its board of directors. David Grieger and John Payne join the Seattle, Wash.-based life science company with decades of experience in investment and healthcare between them. Payne in particular brings experience with animal healthcare, useful for the company which focuses on non-invasive cancer therapies for both animals and humans.
“David and John have invaluable knowledge as internationally recognized authorities in their industries,” said Nativis Chairman John Butters. “They will help position Nativis to meet its goals and will be instrumental in our ongoing success.”
Grieger is a principal at Tipsoo Ventures, a private investment company. Previously, he spent 25 years at Russell Investments Group before retiring from his positions of chief marketing officer and managing director of the Russell Indexes. Throughout his tenure at Russell, Grieger developed a professional portfolio that includes expertise in finance, consulting, investment manager research and institutional and mutual fund investment products.
Payne is the founder and CEO of Pet Health Innovations LLC, which provides consulting services to the animal healthcare industry. He is also the former president and CEO of Banfield Pet Hospitals, the largest private veterinary practice in the United States. Additionally, Payne is the former president and general manager for Bayer Healthcare North America, Animal Health Division. Presently, he serves as chairman of the board for the American Humane Association, the first national humane organization for children and animals.
“I am pleased to join Nativis’ board of directors,” Mr. Grieger noted. “It will be meaningful to work with the Nativis team on such a promising technology to revolutionize cancer treatment.”
“Nativis’ technology is already transforming cancer treatment in canines,” added Payne. “As an animal wellness advocate, I look forward to furthering efforts to bring this technology to market for canine and human cancer patients.”
