OnCore Manufacturing LLC has started a new business unit. The supplier of electronic manufacturing services launched its OnCore Interconnect business, which manufactures cable and harness products that complement OnCore’s electronic manufacturing services.
OnCore Interconnect products are manufactured in a 48,000-square-foot plant in Tijuana, Mexico—close to the U.S. border crossing at Otay Mesa. OnCore Interconnect has the capabilities and certifications, including UL approval, to manufacture cable and harness products for OnCore’s target markets—industrial, medical and military/aerospace, according to the company.
The product offering includes:
• Simple and multi-conductor wiring kits and cable assemblies;
• Flat and ribbon cables;
• Coaxial and radiofrequency cable assemblies; and
• Simple to complex harness assemblies.
“We have assembled an engineering and operations team with an average of 18 years of cable and harness manufacturing experience,” said Bob Weber, OnCore’s vice president of manufacturing. “OnCore Interconnect fulfills our customers’ requirements for a high quality interconnect source that is integrated into their product’s manufacture. Not only does OnCore Interconnect fulfill our customers’ requirements but we’re also ready to service customers that only need cable and harness products.”
“Many of our expanding set of system integration customers have shared their desire for new cable and harness sourcing alternatives—we have listened and invested in OnCore Interconnect, a new growth business for OnCore,” said Sajjad Malik, president and CEO of OnCore. “The investment is aligned with our growth strategy for adding selective vertical integration services that align with our core offering and target markets.”
Based in San Jose, Calif., OnCore Manufacturing also has manufacturing facilities in Springfield and Wilmington, Mass.; Longmont, Colo.; San Marcos and Fremont, Calif.; Suzhou, China; and Tijuana.
