Sterling Medical Devices, a medical product design, development and testing firm, has opened a new hardware design center at its Rochelle Park, N.J., headquarters, adding more than 4,600 square feet of office and laboratory space to existing operations in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Texas.
“Recent growth drives the need to expand our hardware development services,” said Dan Sterling, president and CEO. “The new center provides even more resources to serve our customers and reinforce our partner-level commitment to their success.”
The facility includes full electrostatic discharge protection and state of the art laboratory equipment. The center is designed to deliver safe, efficient, and timely product development and testing.
Appointed to oversee the operation are John Campbell, director of quality, who specializes in compliance projects and quality system management; Larry Bischoff, who will manage the embedded system development process encompassing electronics, firmware, and mechanical aspects of the project; and Steve Hartman, who recently joined the company as program manager, will offer expertise ranging from concept prototyping to cost optimization of the finished device. Together they bring 65 years of development and manufacturing experience in the medical device industry to the table.
Sterling has provided manufacturing services to device giants such as Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, and St. Jude Medical.
