Jan De Witte, president and CEO of GE Healthcare’s Performance Solutions division also has been named president and CEO of Healthcare IT business, GE announced. He succeeds Vishal Wanchoo, who recently was named senior vice president of growth initiatives for GE India.
“Having a single leader like Jan De Witte lead both businesses sends a visible signal to our customers that GE Healthcare is dedicated to growing its IT and solutions offerings, providing them with a unique partner that can deliver the strategic advice they need with outstanding technology,” said John Dineen, president and CEO of GE Healthcare.
Healthcare IT delivers information technology solutions that support high-quality and cost-effective patient care, while Performance Solutions provides new ways of measuring and managing the delivery of those options throughout the full cycle of patient care.
Advisory and technology considerations merge to form this view of the healthcare industry, which supports GE’s $6 billion “healthymagination” strategy. This strategy strives to bring better healthcare to more people at a lower cost.
De Witte was named President and CEO of GE Healthcare Performance Solutions in June 2010, and previously supervised GE Healthcare’s $1.2 billion Services business.
