Boston-based Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC) recently appointed Roush Life Sciences President Tom Taylor as chairman of the trade organization's board of directors.
Taylor has extensive experience in developing and marketing disposable medical, diagnostic, and laboratory research products for the global life sciences market, according to the MassMEDIC.
Before joining Salem, N.H.-based Roush Life Sciences in 2008, Taylor was president of Nypro Life Sciences, a division of Nypro Inc., a global manufacturer of custom plastics offering integrated contract manufacturing. Taylor also served as vice president of the OEM Healthcare Business Unit at Millipore Corporation inBillerica, Mass.
"Tom's experience and success in the medtech industry make him an outstanding choice to lead MassMEDIC," said Thomas J. Sommer, president of MassMEDIC. "The medical device sector faces some serious challenges in the coming year, and we look forward to his leadership and counsel."
MassMEDIC was established in 1996 by medical device company executives interested in promoting the interests of the Bay State's vibrant medical technology sector. The organization has more than 300 members, primarily manufacturers, product developers, suppliers, research institutions and academic health centers.
