Varian Medical Systems, a manufacturer of medical devices and software, said Wednesday it signed a $320 million contract to supply Toshiba with medical imaging subcomponents.
The three-year contract will extend a 30-year relationship with Toshiba Medical Systems, Robert Kluge, Varian's senior vice president, said in a statement.
"This contract marks the latest chapter in our 30-year relationship with Toshiba Medical Systems," Kluge said. "Over the years, our two companies have developed a close cooperation at all levels of the business. We have complementary design engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and work together well to realize new products and improve existing ones."
Toshiba will integrate the parts it purchases from Varian into diagnostic imaging equipment.
