Santa Ana, CA-based Advanced Medical Optics has acquired WaveFront Sciences to increase its range of products for refractive surgery.
The purchase of the Albuquerque, NM-based company cost the ophthalmic surgical and eye care products manufacturer $14 million cash upfront. Advanced Medical Optics also agreed to pay up to $6 million in contingent payments over the next three years.
WaveFront makes aberrometers, devices, which precisely measures the total refractive error and wavefront aberrations of the human eye as part of the wavefront-guided custom laser vision correction procedure.
