Redwood City, CA-based FoxHollow Technologies, a maker of medical devices that remove plaque from artery walls, announced that it has named John Simpson chief executive.
Simpson founded the company in 2003. He moved from chairman to interim chief executive in January to replace Robert W. Thomas, who retired. Simpson intends to remain a member of the company's board of directors. Myrtle Potter will remain as the board's lead independent director.
FoxHollow reported a loss of $14.6 million, or 60 cents per share, in the first quarter of 2006. Much of that loss was attributed to Thomas' compensation package.
