The DYMAX Corporation offers a new MD® Medical Device Adhesives Selector Guide. Included is a comprehensive adhesive/substrate selector chart. A typical properties guide offers several standard formulations, each with a unique set of characteristics, to meet most bonding, processing, biocompatibility and product life cycle requirements. Custom formulations are also available for unique applications.
Design considerations for common disposable device applications are highlighted to help designers optimize device quality, and the efficiency of the assembly process. A selection of UV curing equipment, that is matched to the adhesives’ cure chemistry and the application requirements, is presented to simplify process development and validation.
A table of contents is presented on page two to help designers quickly identify their application and/or the materials they are considering for their bonding operation. Biocompatibility tests performed on DYMAX MD® Medical Device adhesives are listed.
Specific DYMAX Adhesive product lines are featured for catheter and guidewire bonding, syringe assembly, anesthesia masks, resuscitator bags, breathing circuits, and medical optical assembly applications. Charts, photos and technical information are presented to simplify and shorten the adhesive selection and process development process.
For the designer with a new or unique disposable device application, the “Multi-Purpose Bonding Chart” quickly shows the range of products available, their technical data and all of the substrates to which they adhere. Most products shown bond well to a number of plastic substrates, including dissimilar substrates such as metal, glass and ceramic. While most formulations cure instantly upon exposure to long wave, UVA light, the line of MEDI-CURE® 222 Series Cyanoacrylates is offered for bonding opaque substrates and for applications where aggressive adhesion to rubber is needed.
