Kindeva Drug Delivery and Meridian Medical Technologies have completed the transaction to combine the two companies. The deal was first announced about a month ago.

The combination creates a leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for drug-device combination products. The combination will continue under the Kindeva name, and Meridian will be referred to as “Meridian Medical Technologies, a Kindeva company).

The new firm’s drug delivery capabilities will span the parenteral, inhalation, transdermal, and intradermal administration routes. Former Meridian CEO Milton Boyer was also names CEO of the newly combined company.

“The combination of Kindeva and Meridian creates a clear market leader in the drug-device CDMO sector. Customers will benefit from our enhanced scale and broader array of drug delivery solutions,” Boyer told the press.

Kindeva was formerly 3M Drug Delivery Systems, and was acquired by Altaris in 2020 from 3M. Meridian was first acquired by Altaris in December 2021 by Pfizer. The company is a manufacturer of emergency autoinjectors.
