Gore Adds Assemblies To Its Online Configuration Tool

W. L. Gore & Associates now offers assemblies to its new online interactive design guide. The tool provides a menu of connector options to configure a complete GORE™ High Flex Flat Cable Assembly or GORE™ Trackless Cable Assembly, with only 10-day lead times. Gore’s standard connector offerings include: D-Sub (standard, high-density and combo), BNC, Coaxial, IEEE1394, RJ45, CPC and Mate-n-lock. GORE™ assemblies are available with no minimum order quantities, no tooling costs and short lead times. This addition allows design engineers to save time, resources, and money by getting complete cable assemblies from one source.

The GORE™ High Flex Flat Cable and Trackless Cable Configurator – available at www.gore.com/designacable simplifies the cable design process via a quick, streamlined step-by-step procedure. Users can take an interactive tour to learn more about the GORE™ Cable Configurator, and then proceed to design a cable or cable assembly and submit an RFQ using the simple step-by-step configuration tool.

Gore’s standard cable offering includes all of the components necessary to drive and control a motion
system: shielded/unshielded power and signal, video, Ethernet, IEEE 1394, fiber optic and pneumatic lines. 

These cables can be used in an energy chain or cable track and will provide a smaller package solution, allowing better utilization of space.  GORE™ High Flex Flat Cable is available in two forms:  Spooled Cable for higher volumes to ensure lower unit costs and Discrete Length Cable built to required lengths with ends prepped for termination and no minimum order quantities. GORE™ Trackless Cable eliminates the need for cable track, along with the problems typically associated with cable track such as particulation, vibration, weight and size.

GORE™ High Flex Flat Cables and the GORE™ Trackless Cables are designed and tested to achieve 10 million cycles on a 2” (50 mm) bend radius.
