The Weiss-Aug Group, a manufacturing partner for precision metal stamping, injection molding, and integrated component assembly, and Lupine Labs, a development partner specializing in material science and machine automation, will join forces to create a new entity, Lupine Research.
“This new entity further expands The Weiss-Aug Group’s capabilities into a forward-thinking state-of-the-art contract manufacturer offering customers next-generation technologies combined with over 45 years of manufacturing excellence. We welcome Lupine Labs and their entire team into The Group to help deliver the future of manufacturing solutions to our customers,” said Elisabeth Weissenrieder-Bennis, executive vice president of The Weiss-Aug Group.
Lupine Research will have two divisions; research and development led by vice president of R&D, Alex Macpherson, Ph.D., and automation, led by vice president of automation, John Francis. Ph.D.
The research and development division will offer solutions in material science utilizing a new state-of-the-art R&D lab for technology development in metal sputtering, Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO), and electroplating technologies. While the Automation division will develop systems and AI for machine vision, with the focus of reducing labor costs and improving product quality for its customers in manufacturing.
Lupine Research’s new 7000 square foot site at 4665 Nautilus Court in Boulder Co. will house the R&D lab, along with expanded resources for automation development. Here, customers will be able to engage with the team as well as view their development and prototype activities on site.
