The HEM-9200T blood pressure monitor features a one-button operation, wide-range cuff to fit various upper arm sizes and an irregular heartbeat detector. The HN-290T scale has a measuring capacity of 550 pound, covering almost all patients without sacrificing accuracy. The measurement mode automatically turns on when someone steps on the scale, the large surface size enhances stability and a large font and display makes results easy to read, the Japanese devicemaker said.
The products allow chronically ill patients the freedom to monitor their health from home instead of traveling to a hospital, says Jim Li, executive director of medical affairs at Omron.
Omron also offers a starter kit to ease the integration of its devices with telemedicine platforms.
“Omron’s new products were designed to keep patients connected with their healthcare providers,” Li noted in a brief news release.
The new blood pressure monitor (HEM-9200T) features simple and direct guidelines to ease the users’ experience and improve the quality of care. Equipped with Bluetooth Smart technology, the blood pressure monitor and scale can be connected to a gateway (a smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth Smart enabled devices) to transfer data. Omron’s devices will be integrated to Qualcomm Life’s medical-grade 2net Connectivity Platform, 2net Hub and 2net Mobile, which enable secure, seamless capture and aggregation of biometric data for transmission to virtually any third party application or portal.
To ease the integration of Omron’s new devices with various telemedicine/telehealth solution platforms, Omron offers a StarterKit to system developers or solution providers, executives said.
Omron Healthcare manufactures and distributes personal wellness products including home blood pressure monitors, fitness solutions, such as pedometers and activity trackers, and electrotherapy devices.
