C&J Industries Nominated for PA Governor’s Impact Award for Job Creation

C&J Industries, a privately held plastic injection molder and medical device contract manufacturers, has been named as a finalist for the 2014 Governor’s Impact Award in the category of manufacturing job creation in Pennsylvania.

The company was nominated by the Economic Progress Alliance of Crawford County. The Meadville, Pa.-based company supplies custom plastic products and medical devices to customers in North America and Europe. The company has posted five years of double-digit sales growth.

“Since the great recession of 2008, C&J Industries has benefited from a significant number of new projects that have grown our business by over 50 percent,” said Dennis Frampton, the firm’s president and CEO. “In particular, over the past three years, our customers have transferred 130 plastic injection molds to C&J. C&J Industries is proud to contribute to both the local and state employment levels for good manufacturing jobs.”

The company is one of five finalists in the state’s Northwest region for the Jobs First Award. In order to qualify for the award, C&J Industries maintained a positive net gain in new jobs over the last two years, displayed consistent year-over-year job growth and employee retention. More than 60 percent of C&J’s workforce has been with the company for more than five years and nearly a third of its workforce has been at C&J for more than 10 years, according to the company’s leadership.

The Governor’s Impact Awards will be announced at an awards luncheon in Hershey, Pa., on May 30.

Launched in 2013, the Governor’s Impact Awards honors companies in five categories: community, entrepreneur, export, jobs first (job creation), and small business.

In the inaugural year, there were 247 finalists nominated through the Keystone State’s 10 regional economic development partnerships.
