Zimmer Holdings Inc. is among 15 companies participating in an equity conference next month.

The INVESTIndiana Equity Conference is being held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sept. 9. Paul Blair, vice president of investor relations at Zimmer, will address attendees. Executives at Warsaw, Ind.-based Zimmer did not disclose the topic Blair will discuss at the event.

Blair is responsible for the development and execution of Zimmer’s global investor relations program. He has 25 years of experience in investor relations and finance, having previously worked as vice president of corporate development at Owens & Minor Inc. He also worked for Illinova, formerly the Illinois Power Co. in Decatur, Ill.

Blair earned a Bachelor of Science degree in both accounting and computer management, as well as a master’s degree in business administration from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill.

He has been a member of various professional organizations, including the National Investor Relations Institute and the National Association of Accountants. Blair also has served as a board member and provided strategic planning consulting for several Eastern Illinois University’s School of Business, the Heart of Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America, The Carver Promise (a Richmond, Va.-based student mentoring program), and the Shady Grove YMCA in Glen Allen, Va.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Washington, D.C.-based attorney Michael Oxley are the keynote speakers at the conference. Oxley represented Ohio’s fourth district in Congress for 25 years and co-authored some of the strongest guidelines for companies that trade on Wall Street. However, he is perhaps best known for helping draft the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which created a new accounting oversight board for publicly traded companies.

Other speakers will include Marvin R. Richardson, president and CEO of Arcadia Resources; Matthew Middendorf, Arcadia’s chief financial officer and treasurer; and Philip L. Johnson, vice president of investor relations for Eli Lilly & Co.

The INVESTIndiana conference allows fund managers, analysts and investment professionals from companies in various industries to interact and network.
