VibeTech Appoints CEO

Hire occurs as company prepares to sell its first product.

VibeTech Inc. has a new leader.

The Sheboygan, Wis.-based company has hired Marlo M. Vasquez as its chief executive officer.

Vasquez’s passion for entrepreneurship led him to VibeTech, where he will lead development and implementation of strategic and operational plans worldwide, according to a news release announcing his new position.

“I decided to join VibeTech because its main product concept will make a difference in the lives of individuals who suffer muscular atrophy due to mobility issues and balance impairments. The VibeTech One rehabilitation chair will allow these individuals to improve their standard of living,” he said. “We are well-positioned to serve multiple customer segments, including the elderly, injured athletes and individuals who cannot tolerate weight-bearing physical rehabilitation activity. I am excited and honored to become part of VibeTech’s leadership team and I look forward to building long lasting strategic relationships with our clients.”

The VibeTech leadership team is comprised of Chief Technology Officer Jeff Leismer, Ph.D.; Chief Operations Officer Nadder Sahar, Ph.D.; Chief Financial Officer Marcos Guevara; and Regulatory Specialist John Ziobro.

Vasquez previously was the global vice president and general manager for Nutritional Chemistry and Food Safety at Covance Inc. Prior to that, he served as North America Services marketing manager and Six Sigma Master Black Belt at GE Healthcare. Vasquez holds a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree in management information systems from Texas A&M University, and Bachelor of Science degrees in both electrical engineering and industrial engineering from Texas A&M University. Vasquez also is a recipient of Kellogg’s School of Management Executive Scholar Certificate in Leadership and Management.

Vasquez’s appointment as CEO comes as the company prepares to sell its flagship VibeTechOne device, a product designed to help mobility-impaired patients and those with difficulty performing weight-bearing physical activity to restore strength and function. The firm already has registered and listed the device with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a move that allows the company to sell its product throughout the nation.

“We are inches away,” Leismer, who founded the company in 2007, told the Journal-Sentinel of Milwaukee. “The form and function of the device are such that the treatments can be provided to any patient, regardless of their physical ability level.”

Leismer previously conducted biomechanical research for Kohler Co. in the whirlpool area. He has a doctorate in biomechanics from University of Florida, and while there researched ways to help astronauts avoid muscle and bone loss. His company develops medical equipment to treat and prevent bone and muscle loss.
