iO Urology has appointed Tyler Binney as its board chairman. “We are thrilled to welcome Tyler as chairman of our Board. His extensive leadership experience and track record of commercializing disruptive technologies make him an invaluable addition to our team,” iO Urology CEO and board member Britton Garrett said. “Tyler’s appointment is a significant milestone in our journey to advance the future of urologic care. This announcement follows our successful Series A fund raise of $19.4 million in Q1 of 2024.” Binney joins iO Urology’s board with a strong track record of driving innovation and growth through strategic vision and operational expertise with more than 20 years in the medical device industry. He is currently president and CEO of Relievant Medsystems Inc., which was acquired by Boston Scientific in November 2023 for an upfront payment of $850 million plus performance based earnouts. Previously, he served as president and general manager of Interventional Urology at Teleflex, where he played a key role in the $1.1 billion acquisition of NeoTract Inc. in 2017. “I am honored to lead iO Urology’s Board of Directors,” Binney stated. “The company is on the brink of transforming urologic patient care by harnessing crucial data captured by patients at home to enhance the diagnosis and management of lower urinary tract symptoms.
