New product launches, company collaborations, and executive changes were popular topics in October.

ResMed released its first fabric CPAP Mask called the AirTouch N30i. This mask is designed for optimal comfort with a fabric-wrapped frame. 

Abbott launched its FOCALFLEX trial, assessing its TactiFlex Duo Ablation Catheter, Sensor Enabled (SE), which will be used to treat patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AFib). 

GI Alliance and Medtronic partnered to develop new technology to advance colon polyp detection. Medtronic will deliver its GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module to over 400 Alliance site locations.

Beckman Coulter & SphingoTec have also partnered to improve kidney health assessment critical care. A variety of SphingoTec’s innovative kidney function biomarkers will be brought to Beckman Coulter’s test menu for use on the Access Family of Immunoassay Analyzers.

Timothy Scannell and Wendy Lane joined the Masimo board following a two-year proxy battle with the company’s activist investor. CMR’s Chief Executive Officer, Supratim Bose, stepped down for personal reasons.
