Teleflex’s Wattson Temporary Pacing Guidewire Cleared by FDA

Teleflex announced its Temporary Pacing Guidewire the Wattson will enter the market. Wattson is the first commercially available bipolar temporary pacing guidewire designed for TAVR and BAV surgeries.
 
 
This device features a simple design to crate procedural efficiencies, offering dual functionality, supporting both valve delivery and ventricular bipolar pacing during BAV or TAVR procedures. Through its flexible distal pigtail shape, multiple electrode, and bipolar design, Wattson provides confidence in capture during rapid pacing.

Wattson is designed to help reduce the risk of ventricular perforation by presenting an alternative to avoid range of costs[1], complications[2], and steps2 associated with traditional right ventricular pacing. 
 
The device is anticipated to be released later this year following its current limited market release phase.
