Tandem Diabetes Care announced that its t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ+ automated insulin delivery (AID) is now available with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor integration in the U.S.

The company said this is the initial step toward global commercial rollout that extends choice and personalization for diabetes patients. Updated software for FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor integration is preloaded on all new t:slim X2 pump shipments and is available to all eligible t:slim X2 pump users through a software update.

Tandem Diabetes expects to launch early-access programs for the integrated tech internationally before the end of the year and scaling commercial availability to follow in 2026.

FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus is the smallest patient-applied CGM sensor available today. It transmits automatic glucose readings every minute to the pump and provides extended 15-day wear time.

Control-IQ+ is Tandem’s newest advanced hybrid closed-loop algorithm. It adjusts insulin every five minutes based on predicted glucose levels and is the only system with AutoBolus, which automatically calculates and delivers a correction bolus. This helps reduce the effect of missed meal boluses and eases daily burden of diabetes management.

“With this integration, we expand the benefits of greater control to more people living with diabetes worldwide with our AID system that is easy to start, use, and personalize,” said John Sheridan, Tandem’s president and CEO. “It combines Control-IQ+, our most advanced algorithm ever, together with the benefits of Abbott’s latest CGM sensor on our tested and trusted t:slim X2 insulin pump.”

In June, the company began a deal to develop and commercialize integrated diabetes tools that merge Abbott’s future dual glucose-ketone sensor with its insulin delivery systems.
