Suntron Opens New Clean Room in Phoenix

The announcement comes on the heels of the expansion of its Mexico facility.

Suntron Corp. has opened a new class 10,000 clean room at its manufacturing facility and headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz. Suntron is a manufacturing company that provides engineering services, printed circuit card assembly, box build, large scale and complex system integration, commercial off the shelf technology development, embedded computing solutions, and testing services for medical and other industries. The new clean room will be used to process medical and clean-critical assemblies, allowing Suntron to expand its presence in the medical industry.

Suntron employs more than 180 people in the Phoenix area, and continues to invest money in the city and state with expansions such as the new clean room. The entire facility consists of the manufacturing facility, an express facility, and the company’s corporate headquarters.

Suntron has maintained a strong presence in the medical industry with its good manufacturing practice (GMP) compliance, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) registration, and ISO 13485 registration.

“By adding a clean room within our headquarters in Phoenix, we are positioning ourselves for future growth,” explained Tom Anderson, Suntron plant manager. “The additional capabilities, combined with our current GMP compliance, FDA registration and ISO 13485 registration, will help us expand our medical customer base and add new jobs to the community.”

Suntron recently expanded its other manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico, by adding 27,275 feet of extra space. The expansion includes a class 100,000 clean room, brining the total size of the facility to 160,000 feet. The Mexico facility is also ISO 13485 certified.

“By adding large scale integration within our low cost regional facility in Tijuana, we are positioning ourselves for future growth with a new capability,” said Rod Gunther, Suntron de Mexico plant manager. “The additional space will help us better serve our customers, particularly those who are looking to manufacture in a low cost region but desire to be closer to home.”
