Non-invasive blood pressure device developer SunTech Medical has signed a cooperation contract with Erlangen, Germany-based Corscience GmbH & Co. KG to incorporate the former company’s blood pressure measurement technology into new cardiovascular diagnostic products. SunTech Medical, a Halma company, has been a supplier of non-invasive blood pressure monitoring technology for nearly 30 years. By developing blood pressure measurement technologies that focus specifically on handling transport motion and critical patients, SunTech Medical’s blood pressure technology has been designed into more transport monitors than any other manufacturer, executives claim. “SunTech Medical and Corscience ideally complement one another. Corscience will integrate SunTech’s motion-tolerant blood pressure technologies in all future designs. In addition, we are looking forward to supporting SunTech by developing new products specifically for their blood pressure device business,” Corscience CEO Prof. Dr. Armin Bolz said. Corscience is an engineering service company specializing in cardiovascular applications. The firm supplies the EMS transport industry as well as the clinical supply industry with engineering and manufacturing services and support. Focusing on defibrillation, ECG, SpO2 and CO2 technologies, Corscience serves as a full-service shop for many of the companies in the cardiovascular therapy and diagnostics field worldwide. “Our partnership with Corscience is a strategically advantageous fit for both companies. In them, we have found a partner who shares our beliefs and ideals for medical device development,” said SunTech Medical CEO Dayn McBee. SunTech Medical is based in Morrisville, N.C. Its parent company, Halma plc, is based in the United Kingdom (U.S. headquarters are in Cincinatti, Ohio) and makes products for hazard detection and life protection.
