St. Jude to Pay $533M For Two Med-Tech Firms

St. Jude Medical Inc. is buying two medical technology companies for $533 million.

The St. Paul, MN-based company paid $250 million for Radi Medical AB of Sweden, and it has agreed to pay $283 million for MediGuide Inc. of Israel. 

Radi’s devices include a system used to assess lesions in heart arteries and vascular-closure tools. 

Radi will become part of St. Jude’s cardiovascular division. The company develops, manufactures, markets, and sells medical devices and systems for interventional cardiology, hemostasis management and radiology markets.

MediGuide Inc. is a developer of medical technology applications for use in minimal invasive procedures based on defense technologies.
