Solventum has launched its Double-Coated Medical Tape with Hi-Tack Silicone and Acrylate Adhesives on Liner (2487 Hi-Tack Silicone Tape), an advanced adhesive solution designed for sensitive skin that allows medical wearable manufacturers to expand their devices to a broader patient population.

“Adhesive solutions for patients with sensitive skin meet essential healthcare needs. The 2487 Hi-Tack Silicone Tape is safe for patients of all ages, including pediatric, and those with chronic conditions that compromise skin integrity,” said Chad Reed, director of Medical Technologies OEM, Solventum.

The skin-contact side of the 2487 Hi-Tack Silicone Tape can be repositioned after initial application for optimal comfort. As part of Solventum’s Hi-Tack Silicone Adhesive Portfolio, the 2487 Hi-Tack Silicone Tape is ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization compatible.

The tape is made with a clean, non-fluorinated release liner, and the backing bond design leaves minimal residue on both skin and medical devices when removed. The new breathable medical tape is fluid-resistant and can be worn for up to seven days with minimal to no skin trauma during removal.
