High blood pressure management could soon become easier. Smart Meter and Kura Care have launched an integrated, personalized blood pressure program intended to empower patients and enhance care team support.

The new collaboration combines Smart Meter’s cellular-connected iBloodPressure solution with Kura Care’s intelligent reminder and lifestyle tracking platform, providing patients with real-time, personalized insights, and actionable feedback—all delivered automatically. The combination creates a seamless, data-driven approach to managing hypertension more effectively.

“By combining Kura Care’s AI-driven patient engagement with Smart Meter’s iBloodPressure device, we are redefining blood pressure management, making it more personalized, proactive, and impactful for both patients and healthcare providers,” Kura Care Chief Technology Officer Shawn Hsu said.

The Kura Care program is built to support patients, providers, RPM companies, and chronic care management (CCM) platforms with:

  • Personalized Reminders and Lifestyle Tracking: Real-time prompts and tailored guidance to help patients make meaningful changes.
  • Comprehensive Care Team Insights: Actionable data and trend analysis to optimize treatment plans and improve outcomes.
  • Effortless Integration: A streamlined solution for seamless adoption by healthcare providers, RPM vendors, and CCM platforms.

High blood pressure is known as the silent killer because nearly 60% of Americans with the condition are unaware of it. Only 20.7% of adults with high blood pressure mange to control it to a healthy level—below 130/80 mm Hg. Uncontrolled hypertension dramatically increases the risk of heart disease and stroke, two of the leading causes of death in the United States.

The Smart Meter-Kura Care 12-week program leverages Smart Meter’s cellular iBloodPressure monitors. When patients take a reading, results are securely sent to their provider, RPM vendor, or CCM platform through Smart Meter’s private data network. Simultaneously, Kura Care’s artificial intelligence (AI) system analyzes the data and delivers personalized coaching and reminders through texts, emails, and reports.

“This collaboration is a game-changer for hypertension management,” Smart Meter CEO Casey Pittock stated. “With Kura Care now available through our SmartHealth Solutions suite of monitoring tools, we’re introducing a powerful application for our broad commercial healthcare customer base to drive meaningful patient engagement, increase reimbursement opportunities and deliver better outcomes.”

Kura Care is harnessing the power of AI, behavioral science, and cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative, patient-centered solutions.
