Rhythmlink Releases BrainHealth Headset and RLI EEG Template

Rhythmlink International LLC has released two new products, the BrainHealth Headset and the RLI EEG Template, both designed to assist in the ER, ICU and critical care environments. Rhythmlink’s BrainHealth Headset is intended for quick and efficient application of EEG electrodes, providing EEG recordings in less than five minutes, which is crucial to fast diagnosis and care. The headset is also designed to be used by medical professionals already at bedside. The Rhythmlink Template is another option designed to assist with easy and accurate placement of EEG electrodes. Both products can save considerable time when an EEG specialist is unavailable.
 
The BrainHealth Headset comes preloaded with 21 of Rhythmlink’s patented PressOn Electrodes. These electrodes require no skin prep before placing the electrodes, saving time in critical environments. The headset utilizes pre-determined electrode locations, making it easy for medical staff to benefit from EEG recordings that might otherwise not be available.
 
The Rhythmlink Template is a disposable elastic template that fits over the patient’s head to assist in fast placement of EEG electrodes. The template is offered in several sizes and available in two options, standard or ICU. Both varieties are labeled with common electrode placements, 16 for ICU and 21 for standard, to ensure a fast and accurate application of electrodes.
 
“Traditional EEG can be nearly impossible within emergency departments (ED) due to numerous challenges,” said Leah Hanson, Rhythmlink’s vice president of Global Sales and Marketing. “The biggest obstacle can be 24/7 availability of trained clinicians needed to apply traditional EEG electrodes. The BrainHealth Headset design was created to utilize the expertise of available medical staff to apply the electrodes eliminating hours of wait time in many cases. “
 
Hanson explained that “Quicker EEG Electrode application, along with the ability to keep electrodes applied for CT imaging, can provide advanced patient care during moments where time is of the essence. Patients who present with conditions such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), altered mental status, and non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) can be at risk of life-threatening consequences if left untreated. This fully disposable EEG innovation brings brain function monitoring to emergent and critical care settings without sacrificing EEG quality.”
 
Hanson also commented on the new Rhythmlink Template, saying “EEG records brain activity from specific scalp locations, so accuracy of electrode placement is crucial to the quality of data collected. The template positively improves patient care by eliminating time to measure the patient scalp, maximizing workflow and streamlining the application process.”
