B&W TEK, Inc. of Newark, DE has introduced the MiniRam Raman Spectrometer System, a battery operated spectrometer. With a 785, 532 or 1064 nm excitation laser, the MiniRam can collect Raman spectra from 175 to >2500 cm^-1 from the excitation line. Using the included sampling probe, solids and liquids can be rapidly evaluated, identifications confirmed or quality issues resolved. Coupled with a laptop computer and BWSPEC software, a user can quickly collect and evaluate a spectrum as well as use programs such as Thermo’s GRAMS/AI or The Unscrambler by Camo.
