Pulse Biosciences Names Co-Chairman Paul LaViolette as CEO

LaViolette touts an investing career as well as a 15-year tenure with Boston Scientific.

Pulse Biosciences has appointed Paul LaViolette, current co-chairman of the board, as CEO.

As a managing partner at SV Health Investors, LaViolette ivested in many portfolio companies and is active on the boards of some SV Health Investors portfolio companies. Before his investing career he worked in various executive roles at Boston Scientific for 15 years, including as COO; group president of cardiovascular, president of cardiology, group president of endosurgery, and president, International.

Before Boston Scientific, LaViolette was president of cardiology for CR Bard and served in various marketing roles at Kendall (Medtronic).

He’s also a director for Edwards Lifesciences and chairman of the innovation advisory board as Mass General Brigham.

The company is continuing the development of its nano-PFA Cardiac Surgical System and nano-PFA 360° Cardiac Catheter through first-in-human feasibility studies in Europe and is conducting a pilot program with its FDA-cleared nsPFA Percutaneous Electrode Systems at select sites in the U.S.
