Proximie has begun a partnership with HistoSonics, manufacturer of the Edison histotripsy system and novel histotripsy platforms used to non-invasively treat liver tumors.

The duo will integrate Proximie’s intelligent OR platform and the Edison system for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) across the U.S. Proximie’s real-time connectivity capabilities will enable HistoSonics’ medical directors and physician faculty to share live expertise to surgeons using Edison, as well as treating liver tumors more effectively using focused ultrasound sonic beam therapy.

It will also add new levels of rapidity to HistoSonics’ diagnostics and operations.

Proximie’s OR intelligence platform offers a tailored digital ecosystem to drive healthcare innovation. The platform facilitates real-time connectivity; unified data—including data capture, structure, and control capabilities; AI-enabled insight; and a context-rich video library.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with HistoSonics, driving the rollout of the cutting-edge Histotripsy System while making a tangible impact on outcomes for those suffering from liver tumors,” said Proximie founder and CEO Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram. “The partnership is testament to the benefits of intelligent digital connectivity within the OR; enabled by the Proximie platform; providing value to stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.”

Yesterday, Proximie revealed it had begun a partnership with Imperative Care to drive development of a robotic surgical system to treat ischemic stroke. The company also began collaborating with Olympus in October to offer healthcare customers a health tech platform to digitize operating rooms.

“Our partnership with Proximie represents our commitment to partner with world leaders in their respective domains, providing our customers with the best technology solutions possible,” said HistoSonics CEO Mike Blue. “Proximie’s ability to provide real-time virtual presence in histotripsy procedures provides opportunities for our medical team to share expertise with physicians across the world and support our customers in unprecedented ways.”
