Preceptis Medical Welcomes New CEO

Thirty-three year medtech veteran David Carey has moved into the corner office at Preceptis Medical Inc., a commercial-stage medical technology company focused on pediatric ENT care. Carey assumes leadership as the company accelerates toward full market release of its flagship product, the Hummingbird Tympanostomy Tube System (TTS).

As CEO, Carey will oversee the Hummingbird TTS System’s continued U.S. expansion. The System is designed to enable in-office pediatric ear tube placement without the need for general anesthesia, and has demonstrated significant clinical, economic, and patient satisfaction benefits in the company’s limited market release.

Carey most recently served as chief commercial officer (CCO) at Pristine Surgical; he also spent 19 months as vice president and general manager of marketing before assuming the CCO position. Before that, he worked for Stryker Corp. for more than seven years. His medtech experience also includes stints at Saranac Surgical, Invuity, Medtronic, Tyco Healthcare, Boston Scientific Corp., ConvaTec, and Calgon Vestal Laboratories.
