Phillips Medisize Rolls Out TheraVolt Medical Connectors

The connectors were designed to address increasing demand for advanced medical connectors in growing specialties such as electrophysiology.

Phillips Medisize, a Molex company has launched its new TheraVolt medical connectors. These are the first medical connectors released under the company’s brand.

The company said TheraVolt offers device engineers enhanced functionality with solutions to handle both signals and high voltage lines. It cited emerging electrophysiology trends like pulsed field ablation (PFA) are driving demand for medical connectors that support higher pin count densities and compact design.

TheraVolt connectors can help simplify medical device integration, increase capital equipment longevity, reduce customization development time, and lower costs. Phillips Medisize hopes to allow more efficient solutions and flexibility for companies developing PFA treatment for patients with atrial fibrillation.

A higher pin count and voltage clearance allows more functions to be integrated so engineers can design multi-therapy devices with more capabilities, advanced functions, and increased data collection. The connectors are available off-the-shelf with the ability to be tailored with customizable configurations for pin counts and precise electrical requirements.

TheraVolt connectors were engineered to withstand multiple autoclave cycles. They were also designed to support compliance with IEC and IPC requirements.
