Philips is expanding its longstanding partnership with Medtronic with a new multi-year agreement, which will focus on broadening access to advanced patient monitoring and high-quality care. The collaboration between the two spans over three decades, beginning in 1992.

Philips’ patient monitoring systems currently incorporate Medtronic’s Nellcor pulse oximetry, Microstream capnography, and BIS brain monitoring for conscious level assessment. In the new deal, Philips will bundle essential supplies—ECG, NIBP, and batteries—with Philips Medtronic-enabled monitors.

The duo said the approach will streamline procurement and offer a solution that makes managing multiple contracts within the same monitoring category less complex. The partnership will first target the North American market, with plans to grow globally.

Both firms has created a new pledge program to reinforce patient safety. Philips said it will ensure all tech integrated through the partnership is clinically validated, cybersecure, and ready for use on the frontline.

“Philips is passionate about equipping clinicians with the tools they need to provide better care to more patients,” said Sachin Chaudhari, General Manager of Clinical Applications and Devices for Hospital Patient Monitoring at Philips. “Through our partnership with Medtronic, we’re providing a comprehensive monitoring solution that is validated throughout all stages, giving clinicians access to the reliable, high-quality products they need to do their jobs.”

Last month, Philips released its Flash Ultrasound System 5100 POC, a point-of-care (POC) ultrasound engineered for anesthesia, critical care, emergency medicine, and musculoskeletal imaging.
