Pexco Acquires Precision Extrusion Inc.

Pexco LLC, a leading North American specialty plastics manufacturer across Medical, Defense, and Industrial markets, has acquired Precision Extrusion, Inc. of Glens Falls, New York. Precision Extrusion, Inc. is a dual-certified ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 manufacturer of advanced medical tubing and catheter solutions.

Precision Extrusion was founded by Mike Badera in 1991. The company offers a variety of advanced extrusion technologies and products, ranging from single lumen, multilumen, and co-extrusion tubing to acetal mandrel solid rods and wire-reinforced products. It primarily processes engineering, high-performance medical plastics materials at tight tolerance, including nylon and nylon co-polymers, polyurethane, PEEK, polyetherimide, FEP, and polycarbonate. The company also sells angiographic and guide catheter solutions in standard French sizes. Mr. Badera will join Pexco and remain with the business in his current capacity as president/general manager and will also help direct Pexco’s medical extrusion technology and innovation.
 
The acquisition represents Pexco’s second in the medical plastics field since Odyssey Investment Partners acquired the specialty plastics business in 2012. Pexco acquired the innovative Spectrum Plastics of Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013, providing it a base in injection- and micromolding solutions for surgical device products and surgical implantables, including bioresorbable materials.
