Ottobock Names Sales VP for North America

A company insider is promoted to top sales position.

Austin, Texas-based Ottobock has promoted Matt Swiggum to executive vice president of sales for North America.

Swiggum began his tenure with Ottobock in 1997 as a sales representative and has since worked his way up in the ranks of sales leadership for the company holding the positions of director of sales for technical orthopedics, business unit director for mobility solutions and most recently vice president of mobility solutions.

In his new position, according to a release from the company, Swiggum serves as the leader for the Ottobock sales representatives across all business units.

“Through his years with Ottobock Matt has been instrumental in instilling advanced sales training and emphasizing a philosophy of partnership with customers,” said Andreas Schultz, regional president and chief financial officer for North America.  “The company has seen strong growth under his direction. Our new sales strategy is lifting us to the next level of excellence and we are confident that our customers and the industry will benefit even further from the increased efficiency and stronger alignment regionally and globally of our entire sales force under Matt’s leadership.”

Ottobock was established in 1958 in Minnesota as the Americas corporate headquarters of Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH, based in Duderstadt, Germany. The company recently relocated to Austin. Ottobock has 7,000 employees worldwide in 46 branches and produces more than 50,000 types of prosthetic and orthotic components, mobility and rehabilitation products.
