Viz.ai has launched Viz Agent Studio, a new capability within Viz One Platform that allows health systems to create their own AI Care Pathways. The company claims this tool is the first agentic platform that allows health organizations to flexibly translate clinical guidelines into clinical workflows and deploy and scale them across the enterprise using natural language.

Over the past decade, health systems have invested heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) detection, predictive analytics, and electronic health record (EHR) optimization, yet gaps in care coordination, delayed follow-up on abnormal results,1 and fragmented workflows persist. Clinicians work across multiple systems and processes to ensure patients receive appropriate next steps in care, but these efforts are often time-consuming and difficult to scale consistently across teams and departments. Viz Agent Studio addresses this by enabling health systems to clearly define the way care should be delivered in specific clinical scenarios, such as when an abnormal imaging result is detected or a patient meets treatment criteria. Using AI-assisted pathway design, organizations can operationalize those guidelines across the enterprise, helping ensure consistency across teams, departments, and care settings.

“Studies have shown that 67% of clinical guidelines are not routinely followed in practice,”1 Viz.ai Co-Founder/CEO Chris Mansi, M.D., stated. “AI Care Pathways are the most effective way to deliver consistent, guideline-based care while improving both clinical and financial outcomes. We’ve seen this across multiple conditions—reducing length of stay by three days in stroke, lowering readmissions in COPD, increasing appropriate procedural volume in neurosurgery, and accelerating diagnosis in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Viz Agent Studio puts the power to build and deploy an AI Care Pathway directly into the hands of clinicians and administrators so every patient can receive the right care, every time, and no patient falls through the cracks.”

Viz Agent Studio expands the way health systems can build and scale care pathways, enabing clinical and operational teams to create and deploy new workflows without relying on lengthy, IT-driven development cycles. By giving pathway design control to the organization, health systems can more rapidly launch new programs—thereby reducing pathway development timelines—and extend pathways across additional conditions and service lines, and continuously adapt as clinical priorities evolve.

“Clinical standardization has always been one of the hardest problems to solve in medicine,” said Anthony Mazzarelli, M.D., co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care. “We’ve had the guidelines and the evidence. What’s been missing is a reliable way to embed those standards into everyday workflows. Viz Agent Studio has the potential to help change that.”

Viz Agent Studio is being deployed across multiple clinical specialties—including neurology, cardiology, oncology and pulmonology—with strategic partners.

Viz.ai builds and deploys AI-powered Care Pathways and helps doctors perform their work. The Viz Platform is deployed in 2,000 U.S. hospitals and trusted by many life sciences companies. The platform combines real-time, multimodal clinical data with deep clinician engagement to detect disease earlier, coordinate care teams, and help ensure patients receive the right treatment faster. Viz.ai was the first company to be awarded CMS reimbursement for AI and is ranked the top Healthcare AI Platform by hospitals and health systems in the Black Book Research survey.
