New Engineering VP at Vesta

Medical device polymer company Vesta Inc. has named Rick Ellis its new vice president of engineering for Vesta Silicones. The company provides precision processing of medical grade silicone and thermoplastics, and is based in Franklin, Wis.

Ellis brings more than 30 years of experience in product development, business development and strategic planning to Vesta’s executive management team. According to the company, he will focus on delivering “innovative and efficient medical manufacturing solutions to Vesta’s customers.” Ellis’ prior medical device experience includes leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Medical, Philips Healthcare, Smiths Medical and Precision Dynamics Corporation. He earned his master’s of engineering and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.

Vesta provides silicone medical molding, extrusion of thermoplastics and silicone, dip casting, silicone sheeting, medical device assembly and secondary operations such as silk screening and tipping. The company’s silicone manufacturing services were added in 2011 following the acquisition of SiMatrix, which was a Victor, Mont.-based contract manufacturer specializing in tight-tolerance medical-grade silicone sheeting and dip casting services.
