New CEO on Board at Seaway Plastics Engineering

Seaway Plastics Engineering LLC (SPE), an injection molding company servicing the rapid tooling and low to mid volume market, announced that Tom Orr has joined the company as CEO, president and a member of the Board of Directors.
 
Orr joins SPE from Poppelmann Plastics USA, a division of Poppelmann Holdings GmbH headquartered in Germany, where he served as president for the past six years. In his previous role, Orr led the expansion of Poppelmann’s injection-molded and thermoformed products into the U.S. market.
 
“Tom’s entrepreneurial background, experience running an international injection molding operation and proven leadership skills will help guide our company through our next growth phase,” said Tim Smock, founder and board member. “We are fortunate to have him on the Seaway team.”
 
Orr has more than 25 years of domestic manufacturing and international sourcing experience and has held executive positions in sales, marketing, and operations.

Orr earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
