NAMSA Continues Growth with Integra Group Acquisition

Medical device research group NAMSA has completed the acquisition of The Integra Group, a preclinical and clinical research organization geared toward the device industry. Terms were not disclosed.

“NAMSA is very pleased to now be able to offer The Integra Group’s imaging lab, biostatistics and physician training services along with our world-class expertise in R&D [research and development], biocompatibility and clinical research,” said John Gorski, NAMSA’s president and CEO. “We expect having experts in all of these areas will help clients get their products in the hands of physicians and patients who need them most to help diagnose, treat and even cure diseases around the world.”

It was just in April this year that NAMSA announced an “alliance” with Integra in order to accelerate the progress of medical devices from manufacturer to market.

“Combining our research models in non-clinical and clinical research with NAMSA’s strength in biocompatibility and breadth of services makes us a stronger team together for the benefit of clients,” said Integra Chief Medical Officer Roy Martin, M.D., at the time.

The Integra Group is based in Minneapolis suburb Brooklyn Park, Minn., and is the second company in Minnesota that NAMSA has purchased in recent years. In 2009, NAMSA acquired research group Alquest Inc. in Minneapolis.

Executives from NAMSA and Integra agreed that combining forces will help them better meet the demands from the medical device industry for research services:

Both Pulling and Martin will continue to serve key executive positions at the new NAMSA—Integra Division in Minneapolis.
